The Economic Regulation Authority is committed to ensuring Western Australian consumers receive quality services for a reasonable price.  We work to maintain a competitive, efficient and fair commercial environment, particularly where businesses operate as natural monopolies.

We do this by regulating third party access to electricity, gas and rail infrastructure and administering licenses for electricity, gas and water service providers. We also  carry out surveillance of WA's wholesale electricity market and undertake economic inquiries on a wide range of economic issues.

In undertaking our work we adhere to the following values:
  • We make independent decisions that are free from bias
  • We will be fair and honest in our work
  • We strive to achieve excellence in the way we do things
  • Our processes are visible and our decisions clearly explained
  • We work together to achieve our goals
