Electricity Access

The framework for independent regulation of certain electricity networks in Western Australia is the Electricity Networks Access Code (Access Code).

The objective of the Access Code is to promote the economically efficient investment in, and operation and use of, networks and services of networks in Western Australia, to promote competition.

The Metering Code and Customer Transfer Code set out the rights, obligations and responsibilities of the network operator in relation to metering services and the transfer of customers who switch retailers.

These three Codes are available through our legislation page.

Currently the Western Power Network is the only regulated Network in Western Australia.
