The ERA published its Decision approving Western Power’s proposed amendments to the Technical Rules.
In November 2015 Western Power submitted proposed amendments to its Technical Rules related to the limit for the injection of direct current into the network, the removal of out of date references to Australian Safety Standard AS 4777 (2005), and amendments to the definitions of a number of terms in the Technical Rules Glossary.
On 4 May 2016, the ERA published its Draft Decision to not approve a number of the amendments in Western Power’s proposal of November 2015.
On 17 May, Western Power submitted to the ERA a revised version of its proposal to amend its Technical Rules (originally submitted in November 2015), which incorporated the ERA’s findings in its Draft Decision, stakeholder feedback from public submissions, and stakeholder feedback from the ERA workshop held on 10 May 2016.
The revised Technical Rules became operational on 1 August 2016.
