Independent Market Operator (IMO) and Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) Allowable Revenue

Gas Services Information comprises the Gas Bulletin Board and the Gas Statement of Opportunities. The primary purpose of the Gas Bulletin Board is to provide a website for publishing information about short or near term natural gas supply, transmission, storage and demand. It also includes an emergency management page to assist in the management of supply disruptions. The Gas Statement of Opportunities is an annual planning document that provides a comprehensive medium to long term outlook of natural gas supply, demand, transmission and storage capacity.

The Gas Services Information Rules set out the requirements for the ERA’s determination for allowable revenue and forecast capital expenditure. These requirements include that costs must include only those that would be incurred by a prudent service provider, acting efficiently, and seeking to achieve the lowest practically sustainable cost of delivering the services in accordance with the Market Rules.

On 30 March 2016, the ERA published an Issues Papers relating to the proposal by the IMO. Interested parties are invited to make submissions on the Issues Paper or the proposal submitted by IMO by 4:00 pm (WST) on Friday, 29 April 2016.
