The Monitoring Protocol is a Market Procedure which states how the ERA monitors participants’ compliance with the Wholesale Electricity Market Rules.
The ERA reviewed the Monitoring Protocol following the transfer of the compliance function from the Independent Market Operator to the ERA on
1 July 2016.
This resulted in updates to the Monitoring Protocol to improve transparency and provide further detail on the ERA’s monitoring, investigation and enforcement processes.
The final version of the updated Monitoring Protocol is available on the ERA website and commenced 1 July 2017.
