TEC Hedland holds an electricity integrated regional licence and is authorised to generate and sell electricity to large use customers in the Pilbara region. TEC Hedland owns and operates the South Hedland power station which has a reported capacity of 150 megawatts. The power station is dual fuel (diesel and natural gas) and supplies two large use business customers, Horizon Power and the Pilbara Infrastructure Pty Ltd (a subsidiary of Fortescue Metals Group). The power station supplies electricity through Horizon Power’s transmission and distribution network.
