Water Licensing

The ERA issues licences to is responsible for companied supplying potable water, non-potable water, sewerage, irrigation and drainage services in Western Australia. 

We also

  • Approving financial hardship policies for companies supplying water to households.
  • Monitor and report to the Minister for Water on the operation of the licensing scheme.
  • Arrange regular operational audits and asset management system reviews to ensure companies are complying with the conditions of their licences.
  • Monitoring the performance of water licensees through the annual collection of performance data.

With its licences, the ERA sets minimum service and performance standards to safeguard the long-term interests of consumers and the management of utility assets.
