On 15 August 2014, Goldfields Gas Transmission Pty Ltd (GGT) submitted proposed revisions to the access arrangement for the Goldfields Gas Pipeline. The ERA issued a draft decision to not approve GGT’s proposal on 17 December 2015. GGT submitted a revised proposal in response the ERA’s draft decision on 29 January 2016.
On 30 June 2016, the ERA published its final decision to not approve GGT’s revised proposal and published its own access arrangement and access arrangement information. A minor correction to the ERA’s approved access arrangement was made and published on 21 July 2016.
In November 2016, GGT applied to the Western Australian Supreme Court to have the ERA’s decision repealed. A Supreme Court hearing was held on 10‑11 October 2017.
On 11 April 2018, the Supreme Court dismissed GGT’s application for judicial review. The Supreme Court found that the ERA did not make an error of law. As a result, the ERA's final decision and access arrangement as published on 21 July 2016 remain in force.
