Southern Cross Energy holds four licences for electricity distribution, generation, retail and transmission and operates a vertically integrated electricity business. Southern Cross Energy has four simple-cycle power stations with a total reported capacity of 259.4 megawatts which are located in Kambalda, Mt. Keith, Leinster and Kalgoorlie in the Goldfields region, transmission lines and distribution facilities, including a connection to Western Power's distribution network, and is authorised to sell electricity to BHP's Nickel West mining operations in the area.
