Horizon Power holds an electricity integrated regional licence and is a Western Australian State Government owned corporation. Horizon Power is a vertically integrated utility with generation, transmission, distribution and retail services in areas of Western Australia not supplied by Western Power's distribution network.
Horizon Power operates three interconnected power systems in the East Kimberley (Kununurra, Wyndham and Lake Argyle), two rural systems (Esperance and Hopetoun), the North West Interconnected System between Port Hedland and Karratha, and 34 microgrids and isolated systems.
Horizon Power's residential customers include over 1,400 prepayment meter customers.
Western Power Corporation was originally granted EIRL2 which from 1 April 2006 was transferred to Horizon Power.
