When you visit the ERA website, we collect certain technical information including your IP (server) address, top-level domain, the date and time of your visit, pages accessed, documents downloaded, the previous site visited and the type of browser or device used. We do not attempt to identify users or their browsing activities except, in the unlikely event of an investigation, where a law enforcement agency may exercise a warrant to inspect the service provider's logs. We collect this information to analyse use of our website so that the site can be tailored to better meet the needs of users.
The ERA’s website will only collect the personal information you provide directly to us, for example if you have subscribe to one of our mailing lists and generally we will only use personal information for the purpose it was collected. We may disclose personal information where required or authorised by law, including under legislation that applies to our functions.
Where we publish submissions or regulatory material on our website, unless confidentiality is requested and accepted, your name may be published with your submission. Other personal information included in the body of a submission may be redacted before publication.
The ERA website may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other websites and encourage you to review the privacy statements of any external sites you visit.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We also take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify personal information when it is no longer required, subject to any legal and recordkeeping obligations.
