The Shire of Gnowangerup provides non-potable water and sewerage services to customers in the township of Ongerup.
The Shire currently has a class exemption for small local government sewerage and/or non-potable water services providers exempting them from requiring a water services licence. The current exemption is due to expire on 30 June 2027. If the Shire's exemption is not renewed then they will be required to comply with their current water licence.
