Energy Reports

The Energy Coordination Act 1994 requires the Economic Regulation Authority to report annually to the Minister for Energy on the operation of the gas licensing scheme and licensees’ compliance with the scheme.

Every year, we publish energy reports using data provided to us by electricity and gas licence holders. The reports examine trends in energy retail and distribution for small use customers across Western Australia. The purpose of the reports is to inform energy stakeholders about yearly trends in the retail and distribution sectors, and to improve transparency of distribution and retail businesses supplying small use customers.

For the first time in 2025, we have also developed two dashboards to make the data we collect more accessible for a wider audience. The retail and distribution dashboards visualise licensee data we have collected since 2014, which we will add to over time to show trends since we started collecting data in around 2005. We welcome feedback on all aspects of the dashboards, which you can email to us at: licensing@erawa.com.au.

Every year the ERA publishes energy reports using data provided by licensees, which examine the trends in energy markets and indicators of performance of gas distributors and retailers who supply small use customers (who consume less than 1 Terajoule of gas per annum) in Western Australia.

The purpose of the reports are to bring transparency and accountability of gas distribution and retail businesses that supply small use customers.
