The Gas Services Information Rules (GSI Rules) govern the operation of the Gas Bulletin Board and preparation of the Gas Statement of Opportunities in Western Australia.
The GSI Rules are established under the Gas Services Information Regulations 2012 (GSI Regulations).
The GSI Regulations cover the responsibilities and functions of the relevant parties including the ERA, Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), Independent Market Operator (IMO) and the Electricity Review Board, as well as detailing requirements for registration and enforcement of the GSI Rules.
On 23 November 2016, the Energy Industry (Rule Change Panel) Regulations 2016 were gazetted which established a new Rule Change Panel within the ERA who will be responsible for the GSI Rules and the Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM) Rules.
These Rules were previously maintained and developed by the IMO.
The Rule Change Panel will come into effect on 3 April 2017. In the meantime, Rule Changes will be made by the Minster for Energy until 1 July 2017.
The GSI rules are available on the legislation page of our website, including previous versions of the rules and Transitional Rules and Procedures that are in place to enable the transfer of IMO functions to AEMO.
