Horizon Power

Horizon Power has submitted an updated Metrology Procedure and Mandatory Link Criteria (metering documents) to the ERA for approval.

The Metrology Procedure provides guidance on the provision, installation and maintenance of metering installations connected to the Horizon Power network.

The Mandatory Link Criteria specify any communication links required as part of a metering installation. A communications link enables a meter to be read from a remote location.

Nearly all of Horizon Power’s meters are read remotely, since the installation of 47,000 advanced meters across regional and remote Western Australia. It has updated its metering documents to align it with the requirements of the Metering Code after completing the meter exchange project.

Prior to giving its approval, the ERA must undertake a review of the metering documents.
